The Key Peoples Achievement award was held to commemorate the 76th birthday of Dr ShankareshwarDayal, Former Indian Cricketer, Mr. Ajit Wadekar was awarded the Dr RameshwarDayal Lifetime Achievement Award
To commemorate 10 years of the foundations service to humanity, the Dr Dayal Foundation (DDF) today held its annual award ceremony to recognise the achievements of distinguished professionals from different fields. Former Indian Cricketer, Ajit Wadekar was awarded the Dr Rameshwar Dayal Lifetime Achievement Award. Indian cricketer, Robin Uthappa distributed 50 cricket kits to meritorious cricketers at the event. These kits are distributed to cricketers who well perform but cannot afford to buy such kits.
The Foundation has extensively been working year round across various cities in India to help the needy by distributing blankets, sewing machines, child heart operations and more.

Nishant Dayal, President of Dr Dayal Foundation present at the event said, “The Dr Dayal Foundation has always strived to keep my father’s vision alive by servicing humanity through collective efforts. Every year on the eve of Dr Dayal’s birth anniversary, 21stDecember and right through the winter season, the Foundation works actively into distribution of blankets to people sleeping at bus shelters, metro & railway stations, under the flyovers as well as in slum areas. On the eve of Dr Shankareshwar Dayal’s birthday it gives me great satisfaction to help and serve the needy people. Our Foundation has also been actively supporting talented cricket players with cricket kits for the past 10 years.
DDF which is an initiative in the memory of Dr Shankareshwar Dayalserves and supports in the field of Sports, Health and Society. The Foundation which has been actively working since 2006 has been providing and helping the needy with blankets, meals, sewing machines, child heart operations, artificial limbs and more.
During the year, DDF will continue to invest and operate various activities for the needy as well as the welfare of the society. Cricket Clinics will be operated across 5 cities – Patna, Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Delhi, Raipur. Cricket kits will also be distributed across 12 states of India. The Foundation will also be organising an overseas cricket tour and key talented cricketers will be given special training with eminent coaches, trainers and physios. The Foundation will also be working with Cardiac Surgeon Dr Sushant Srivastava at BL Kapoor Hospital, New Delhi to help with heart operations for the needy.
Dr Shankareshwar Dayal (21.12.1941 - 30.07.2003) was one of the very reputed Doctor of Patna and had served Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH), originally known as Prince of Wales Medical College for over 30 years, till he retired in 2002.
He was a very Kind Hearted, Generous and a helpful person along with being a medical doctor. Dr Dayal was a popular figure amongst the medical fraternity because of his ever happy mood
Coming from a legacy of Doctors, Dr Shankeshwar Dayal’s Father, Dr Rameshwar Dayal retired as a Civil Surgeon of Patna. His wife Dr Rita Dayal was one of the leading Gynaecologist of Patna. Dr Rita Dayal has been very active in Dr Dayal Foundation along with their Daughter Swati Sinha.
Dr Rita Dayal (26.09.1950 - 08.03.2017) was one of the finest Gynaecologist of Patna along with being the President of Rotary Club, Secretary General of Professional Medical organisation and a true philanthropist. She was the Founder Chairperson of DDF, we lost her on 08th March 2017.A very Dynamic and focused medical Doctor, served medical college for 38 Years.
