National School of Drama’s T.I.E company today organized a seminar on Reflecting on theatre/Drama for children on the sidelines of 14thJashnebachpan, an international theatre of children. The first session of the seminar addressed the subject Dramatic Representation of Children – “The Missing Childrenâ€, which had eminent speakers from the theatre background. It was chaired by Padma Shri Bansi Kaul and had speakers like Mr Shreeranga Godbole, Ms Vani Tripathi and Mr Raja Bhattacharya, who discussed in length about the children’s theatre and the adult’s role in it. Whereas, the second session held discussion on Process Drama – Knowing Children in the Game of Drama that talked about how it’s important to understand a child first before introducing them to theatre. The discussion was chaired by Dr Pawan Sudhir and had speakers Ms Asha Singh, Ms Padmavati Roy and Mr Walter Peter. The final session of the seminar will be held tomorrow, where the speakers will address an important topic Actor’s Training in Theatre For Children.
