JD Institute of Fashion Technology students showcase their creations
JD Institute of Fashion Technology, a pioneer in the field of design education for the past 30 years, showcased a collection curated by its students at an event held in the capital recently. The event comprised three shows – Ayanaansh by Mayank Gupta, House of Jediiians and Tribute collection – and featured 35 students from the institute.
Every collection that was put on the ramp had an interesting concept. One collection was created with biodegradable plastic to promote the idea of sustainability in fashion. Another collection highlighted the need to save traditional dyeing arts by infusing western silhouette with an Indian craft called Rogan art, an ancient skill with its origins in Persia.
By providing such opportunities, JD Institute aims to help the students to take their imagination to the next level, upskill their creativity and provide them the confidence to follow their dreams. Students are mentored to use innovative designs to create solutions that develop into a fashion or trend in society.
Ms. Rupal Dalal, Executive Director, JD Institute of Fashion Technology, said, “We believe in nurturing young talent and preparing them to present their skills so that they can carve their own niche in the world.â€
