Geetika Saigal was born in Kolkata. Born a brat, into an ‘intellectual’ family, I've always made my own path. Grew-up all over India; explored the globe, here and there. Worked my way up the corporate ladder in Sales & Tech, in India and London (read selling, begging, ass licking, posing smart, talking sense…sigh)
And One Fine Day, after 13 amazing years, I found myself sitting in an airport
lounge, feeling chuffed about my Platinum Card and desperately trying not to
eye the ‘free’ treats beckoning to me from the non-descript trays of poison,
and I knew it…in that one moment. I wanted more, more different, yet more
challenging, way more rewarding…and if that meant giving up my platinum card,
then so be it.
And so I jumped off the cliff – into a crazy, intense, adrenalin-pumping
free-fall called ‘Entrepreneurship’; yes I did get promoted from Director to
CEO – often that stood for Chai & Entertainment Officer, but the most
humbling experience of my life also went on to be the most satisfying, having
built from scratch India’s 1st premium-wear fashion e-commerce platform.
But all good things come to an end, and when I anchored this ship back into the
sleepy dock, I spent the next one month nursing my shattered dreams. Till one
day, I stopped. Stopped it all. To simply Come Undone…and let my
laidback-inner-child guide my over-achiever-brain.
And it’s then, that it happened – I wrote.
…and wrote…and wrote. Till Another Fine Day, emerged My Book.
