Devipshita Gautam- Founder of Indian Hotel Academy
Q. How Hotel Institute can possibly recover and how much time it may possibly take.
Ans. Certainly, we are not in a situation where we can think about recovery, as an institute we have to stand strong with our country but yes there certain odds we are definitely facing. The most important is that this is actually the peak time for students who are already studying with us and also for those who want to apply for hotel management courses. As it is not possible to conduct end term exams & entrance exams in anyways. Especially when you are unable to give them a show round to the aspirants. The next 21 days are going to be very hard but once things will not be that critical anymore we will end up with this situation.
2. Also during this time can hotel executives can be employed?
Yes, very much the hoteliers can volunteer to help the Hospitals as the Hospitality graduates are already trained with hygiene, troubleshoot, HACCP and many more situations. They are the best ones to understand the need for the services and people care. It would be a very proud moment for the industry if they can be part of this support system right now.
3 Impact on Indian Hotel Academy
We don't think this is the right time to think about the impact of lockdown situation as if we will not follow the rules & regulations then the impact can worsen? So, let’s be positive and be prepared for the impact. Whatever would be the impact it would be for the whole country not for the institute.
4. About Online Classes
Yes to deal with the situation our department teams are performing in the best ways possible. We are giving online classes. Lecture for 10 students in a batch with the decided time slots. Also giving video classes and conference call equipped classes for existing students.
On behalf of IHA I would like to send a message to all my fellow organizations that let's deal with this without getting worried about the impact.
